Vehicular & Traffic Regulations

A summary of speed, parking, vehicle, and golf cart rules within The Bridges. Refer to the official Rules & Regulations and CC&Rs for controlling language.

Speed limit: 20 MPH. Obey all posted stop signs. The Bridges is a residential, family-friendly community.

There have been reports of residents and guests driving at excessive speeds and not obeying stop signs. Please observe the posted 20 MPH speed limit, come to a full stop at every stop sign, and speak with other drivers in your household about doing the same.

If you witness someone speeding or failing to obey a stop sign and are able to obtain a license plate number, please notify the guards.

  • Passenger vans designed for ten or fewer persons
  • Motorcycles
  • Pick-up trucks with a manufacturer's rating or payload capacity of one ton or less
  • Golf carts of the type authorized by the operator of the Golf Course Property for use by its members — registered with the Management Company

Parking

Parking rules

In the Villas
Per Rancho Santa Fe Fire Department, parking is allowed on both sides of the street but cars must be staggered. Vehicles may not park directly opposite each other simultaneously, in order to keep emergency access clear.
Street parking (Villas)
Allowed only on the opposite side of the street from the homes, as shown on the Villas Parking Map. Printable Street Parking Map (PDF)
Garages
All vehicles owned or operated by an owner or resident and kept on the property must be parked in the owner's garage to the extent of the space available. Each owner is required to keep their garage able to accommodate at least two full-sized Authorized Vehicles. Vehicle repair, maintenance, or restoration must be conducted in an enclosed garage with the door closed (and not as a business).
Overnight
No overnight street parking is allowed by residents or guests.
Parties (25+ vehicles)
If an owner hosts a party with 25 or more vehicles, the owner must hire a valet service to park cars and an Association guard to direct traffic. The host is responsible for guests' conduct and violations of the governing documents. Contact community management in advance.
Fire access
Fire access lanes must not be blocked. If the Board does not enforce a parking or vehicle regulation, the County may enforce in accordance with applicable laws and ordinances.

  • Carts must be parked within the owner's garage when not in use.
  • Carts may not be parked in a manner that restricts pedestrian or vehicle passage or that extends beyond the parking space.
